Job Description:

Under the direct supervision of the Foster Parent Recruitment Manager, the Foster Parent Recruiter recruits, trains and facilitates certification of foster parents; ensures a solid working relationship with parents by providing a valuable resource to families.

HOURS PER WEEK: Non-Exempt

  • Regular hours entail 9:00am-5:00pm, Monday - Friday
  • Must be flexible to meet program needs
  • Weekend and evening hours required

FUNCTIONS:

  • Work with management to anticipate foster parent recruitment needs
  • Select method of advertising, prepare and place recruitment advertisements in conjunction with Communications team
  • Recruit, train, and facilitate certification of foster parents. Training includes: PST, TST, MAPP, Mini MAPP
  • Conduct initial and follow-up training of foster parents
  • Serve as a resource and trouble-shooter to host families; maintains motivation and treatment participation of host parents, ensures a good working relationship with host parents
  • Attend assigned foster parent recruiting events, which may include nights and/or weekends
  • Attend weekly staff meetings.

 

Experience and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Experience conducting home studies according to state requirements preferred
  • Experience working with immigrant populations preferred
  • Knowledge of local community social services required
  • Child welfare experience and professional licensure preferred
  • Bi-lingual English-Spanish required. All agency documents and records are in English, so English writing proficiency is required. Position itself requires Spanish speaking, writing, and reading proficiency
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Gmail applications
  • Flexibility to work when the families are available to meet
  • Ability to work well with people from many cultures including recent immigrants, non-English speakers, and LGBTQ children
  • Willingness to travel
  • Valid FL Driver’s License required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Word processing: Including responding to e-mails, composing letters, completing computerized documentation, transcribing minutes for meetings, etc.: This involves sitting at a computer for several hours a day
  • Completing paperwork -Such as copying and stapling
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Stand for several hours to teach/train foster parents
  • Sit/ride in vehicles, busses, subways, trains, plains - public transportation for lengthy periods of time
  • Walk up/down stairs
  • Walk several blocks to get to required location
