Job Description:

Under the supervision of the VP of UC TFC, will focus on the improvement of systems in the department as a whole. The CL AVP will be able to attend trainings and provide trainings as needed, be up to date with new terminology; develop and manage access and monitoring of clinical appropriateness of service delivery; ensure that all clinical program functions are operating efficiently and effectively with a level of quality that coincides with best practice.

HOURS PER WEEK: Exempt.

  • Regular hours entail 9:00am - 5:00pm, Monday - Friday
  • Must be flexible
  • Evenings and weekends may be required

FUNCTIONS:

  • Ensure patient centered and culturally sensitive practice
  • Provide mental health evaluations during mental health emergencies
  • Provide mental health crisis intervention
  • Provide ongoing individual and group coaching sessions to staff for processing of complex cases and best practices
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team regarding individualized behavior management plans
  • Coordinate education training for clinical staff
  • Provide guidance & coaching to directors for weekly staff meetings
  • Participate in training of directors and their respective treatment teams to ensure they are versed in the clinical approaches for working with the youth and foster families
  • Provide and coordinate all needed diagnostic services.
  • Develop programs to build up and support the therapeutic milieu
  • Utilize PREA information as it feeds sexual abuse SIRs
  • Facilitate monthly clinical meetings
  • Provide overarching oversight of record keeping and documentation for all clinical activities (case documentation)
  • Work collaboratively with all assistant vice presidents
  • Oversee the interns and improve the internship program at Cayuga Centers
  • Develop systems for the clinical department
  • Prepare statistical and productivity reports as required by regulations, agency policies, contracts and/or as requested by the Vice President, COO or CEO
  • Participate in the orientation of clinical staff
  • Assist with policy development and interpretation, clinical program building
  • Perform other duties as requested by your immediate supervisor or the Chief Executive Officer.
  • Foster a data-driven culture and implement change utilizing the the trends found in the data collected in the quarterly reports

Experience and Skills:

  • LCSW or LMHC required
  • Experience in the human service field and working with at-risk populations (5+ years)
  • Experience providing direct clinical services (5+ years)
  • Ability to teach TST & other agency models - required
  • Experience with a strength based, cognitive behavioral, and trauma sensitive approach to treating troubled youth preferred
  • Familiarity with OCFS, OMRDD, OMH, and other relevant municipal and state agencies
  • Supervisory experience required
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook applications
  • Ability to work well with people from many cultures including recent immigrants, non-English speakers, and LGBTQ children
  • Bi-lingual - English-Spanish required. All agency documents and records are in English, so English writing proficiency required. Position itself requires Spanish speaking, writing, and reading proficiency
  • Willingness to travel within the 5 boroughs of New York City and/or other agency locations
  • NYS Driver’s License preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Word processing: Including responding to e-mails, composing letters, completing computerized documentation, transcribing minutes for meetings, etc.: This involves sitting at a computer for a minimum of 5 hours and could be up to 7 hours a day depending on program needs
  • Completing paperwork -Such as copying and stapling
  • Answering phones, processing mail, filing, lifting packages
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Sit/ride in vehicles, busses, subways, trains, plains - public transportation for lengthy periods of time
  • Walk up/down stairs
  • Walk to enter/exit subway and other public transportation
  • Walk several blocks to get to required location
