Job Description:

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:Supervise and oversee clinical team working within Unaccompanied Children Program. Will audit the quality of the clinical team’s procedures to ensure consistent and high quality services for all youth

FUNCTIONS:

  • Ensure patient centered and culturally sensitive practice.
  • Collaborate with Psych NP on treatment plans and staff clinical training needs
  • Provide mental health evaluations during mental health emergencies.
  • Provide mental health crisis intervention.
  • Provide ongoing individual and group coaching sessions to staff for processing of complex cases and best practices.
  • Provide weekly supervision to clinical specialists, Directors of Learning Center
  • Provide guidance and clinical support to Learning Center directors on foster parent support groups and group therapy for minors.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team regarding individualized behavior management plans.
  • Coordinate education training for clinical staff
  • Provide guidance & coaching to clinical specialists for weekly staff meetings
  • Participate in training of all clinicians and their respective treatment teams to ensure they are versed in the clinical approaches for working with the youth and foster families.
  • Provide and coordinate all needed diagnostic services.
  • Development of programs to build up and support the therapeutic milieu.
  • Utilize PREA information as it feeds sexual abuse SIRs
  • Facilitate monthly clinical meetings
  • Provide overarching oversight of record keeping and documentation for all clinical activities (case documentation).
  • Participate in weekly staffing meetings with clinicians, case managers, case coordinator, and other ORR staff.
  • Attend required training.
  • Read required books.
  • Responsible for complying with rules and regulations governing access to Protected Health Information under HIPAA. Access to Protected Health Information is limited to the extent required to perform responsibilities effectively and efficiently. No access will be permitted unnecessarily. These essential job functions dictate the level of access, use, and disclosure of confidential information.
  • Perform other duties as requested by your immediate supervisor or the Chief Executive Officer.

Experience and Skills:

  • LCSW required
  • 2 years postgraduate direct service delivery experience.
  • Ability to teach TST & other agency models - required.
  • Experience with a strength based, cognitive behavioral, and trauma sensitive approach to treating troubled youth preferred.
  • Familiarity with OCFS, OMRDD, OMH, and other relevant municipal and state agencies
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook applications
  • Flexibility to work when the families are available to meet.
  • Ability to work well with people from many cultures including recent immigrants, non-English speakers, and LGBTQ children.
  • Bi-lingual - English-Spanish required. All agency documents and records are in English, so English writing proficiency required. Position itself requires Spanish speaking, writing, and reading proficiency.
  • Supervisory experience required.
  • Willingness to travel within the 5 boroughs of New York City
  • NYS Driver’s License preferred.
  • Ability to travel to other agency locations as required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Word processing: Including responding to e-mails, composing letters, completing computerized documentation, transcribing minutes for meetings, etc.: This involves sitting at a computer for several hours a day.
  • Completing paperwork -Such as copying, stapling as needed.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Sit/ride in vehicles, busses, subways, trains, plains - public transportation for lengthy periods of time.
  • Walk up/down stairs as needed.
  • Walk to enter/exit subway and other public transportation as needed.
  • Walk several blocks to get to required location.

HOURS PER WEEK: Exempt.

  • Regular hours entail 9:00am - 5:00pm, Monday - Friday. Must be flexible to meet program needs.
  • Evenings and weekends may be required.
