Job Description:

To supervise Assistant Directors of Case Management working within all NYC locations. The AVP of Case Management will audit the quality of the case management procedures to ensure consistent and high quality services for all youth.


  • Regular hours entail 9:00am - 5:00pm, Monday - Friday
  • Must be flexible
  • Evenings and weekends may be required


  • Coordinate and oversee each youth’s assessment, individual service plan, family reunification, and discharge
  • Train, supervise and lead teams of ADs of Case Management and ADs of Clinical
  • Oversee new hire orientation
  • Submit daily ORR required reports
  • Submit agency reports as required
  • Provide overarching oversight of case management services for UC
  • Work with assistant directors and CQI to ensure all services provided to each UC are properly documented in each case file and UC Portal
  • Manage daily operations of Ads of Case Management, Ads of Clinical, case managers and clinicians
  • Coordinate training and supervision of case managers and clinicians
  • Respond to client emergencies during office hours and non-office hours
  • Coordinate and provide guidance during influx intakes and discharges
  • Review and coordinate (in collaboration with AVP of Clinical and clinical specialist) transfer requests from oth ORR Unaccompanied Children’s programs
  • Coordinate initial intake requirements with clinicians, case managers and other staff as needed
  • Provide weekly supervision to each assistant director of case management
  • Provide guidance and consultation on complex cases discussed during weekly staffing meetings with Clinicians, Case Mangers, and other ORR staff
  • Collaborate with Assistant Vice President of Clinical Services to track and trend team training needs


Experience and Skills:

  • Master's degree with three years of supervisory experience required
  • Child welfare experience and professional licensure - strongly preferred
  • Strong leadership
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Bi-lingual-English- Spanish required. All agency documents and records are in English, so English writing proficiency required. Position itself requires Spanish speaking, writing and reading proficiency
  • NYS Driver’s License preferred
  • Ability to travel to other agency locations


  • Word processing: Including responding to e-mails, composing letters, completing computerized documentation, transcribing minutes for meetings, etc.: This involves sitting at a computer for a minimum of 5 hours and could be up to 7 hours a day depending on program needs
  • Completing paperwork -Such as copying and stapling
  • Answering phones, processing mail, filing, lifting packages
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Sit/ride in vehicles, busses, subways, trains, plains - public transportation for lengthy periods of time
  • Walk up/down stairs
  • Walk to enter/exit subway and other public transportation
  • Walk several blocks to get to required location
