Job Description:

The Director of EHR Operations oversees the NetSmart Team and its operations by providing guidance, knowledge, and insight to staff members, managing due dates and deadlines, researching and testing new product developments within our EHR system, and implementing agency programs into our EHR system (NetSmart myEvolv). This position is responsible for staff supervision, issue-resolution, assistance on new and unfamiliar tasks, project management of program implementation, and team cohesiveness and information sharing. Additionally, this staff member works closely with program management staff to meet program needs and to obtain feedback on EHR system design, functionality, and stability.

Schedule: Full-Time, Exempt

Regular hours 9am-5pm, travel to other agency locations required.


  • Oversee EHR implementation operations in order to assure deadlines are met, program staff are trained, account creations/revisions/closings are completed, program materials are updated, revised, and added to the system in a timely manner, and that the EHR system is running smoothly and efficiently
  • Supervise and direct the NetSmart team which is responsible for the design, development, implementation, and revision of all agency materials into the EHR as well as the training and support of all agency staff

  • Provide the NetSmart team staff with guidance, insight, leadership, and support in order to have successful project implementations and to foster team cohesiveness

  • Have a strong understanding of all programs within Cayuga Centers to better support our programs and the NetSmart team staff

  • Manage and oversee project creation, time management, meeting deadlines, project completion, and issue-resolution in order to successfully implement agency programs, system updates, new functionality, etc.

  • Work closely with program management staff in order to understand program needs and explain EHR system processes and implementation/revision plans

  • Facilitate feedback loop meetings, interpret information collected, and delegate necessary changes needed to NetSmart team staff members for completion

  • Significant amount of travel to other agency locations may be required

Experience and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an Information Systems or Computer Science related field OR an Bachelor’s degree in a Human Services related field

  • 2+ years experience using the NetSmart myEvolv EHR system

  • Strong understanding of EHR system design, development, and implementation

  • Experience with applications within Behavioral Health or Social Services a plus

  • Strong computer skills - Windows, Excel, Google Suite, Smartsheet, NetSmart myEvolv

  • Excellent written, verbal, and technical communication skills

  • Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical staff

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Ability to manage and oversee multiple projects at once

  • Excellent time management skills

  • Ability to work well in a team setting in a supervisory position

  • Ability to effectively delegate and monitor tasks

  • Highly adaptable to changing situations

  • NYS Driver’s License required

  • Ability to travel to all agency locations and attend conferences as required
