Job Description:

Under the supervision of the Director of the Learning Center, this person will be responsible for all operations of assigned floor, including but not limited to addressing minor concerns, staff concerns, classroom management, logistics, operations, etc.

FUNCTIONS:

  • Responsible for all Learning Center Operations on their assigned floor. This includes minor concerns, staff concerns, classroom management, logistics, operations
  • Mentor and coach all Learning Center staff
  • Act as liaison between staff and management, which includes the Assistant Vice President, Learning Center Directors, and Learning Center Assistant Directors
  • Serve as Focal Point for information for Foster Parents concerning activities and programs
  • Facilitate smooth dismissal and arrival routines, addressing foster parent concerns, ensuring proper distribution of medications
  • Responsible for STRIDE audit management; contribute to the structuring and creation of new policy/procedures within department
  • Coordinate internal activities related to the program
  • Act as the "Point of Contacts" for Learning Center Leadership, which includes the Assistant Vice President, Learning Center Directors, and Learning Center Assistant Directors
  • Draft and complete Significant Incident Reports and upload in the UAC Portal
  • Assist with onboarding and training of new staff
  • Attend specialized professional development on teacher leadership, coaching, teacher education and the unique needs of student population
  • Act as point person for minors who need 1:1 care
  • Lead team training sessions on proper departmental documentation, procedures and strategies to best support unique needs of student population
  • Attend regular meetings with leadership team to receive key administrative updates, coaching and supervision
  • Contribute valuable feedback to leadership team that is necessary to drive progress within the department

Experience and Skills:

  • Associates degree with minimum of two years’ successful classroom teaching experience required
  • Ability to handle confidential material in a responsible manner
  • Ability to work effectively and patiently with others in difficult and/or stressful situations
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Bi-lingual - English-Spanish required. All agency documents and records are in English, so English writing proficiency required. Position itself requires Spanish speaking, writing, and reading proficiency
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook applications.
  • Ability to work well with people from many cultures including recent immigrants, non-English speakers, and LGBTQ children.

HOURS PER WEEK:

  • 40 hours, exempt position
  • Regular hours entail 8:00am-4:00pm, Monday - Friday. Must be flexible to meet program needs.
