Job Description:

To provide ongoing support and mentoring to clinicians working within Unaccompanied Children Program. Will audit the quality of the clinical procedures to ensure consistent and high quality services for all youth.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Word processing: Including responding to e-mails, composing letters, completing computerized documentation, transcribing minutes for meetings, etc.: This involves sitting at a computer for several hours a day
  • Completing paperwork -Such as copying, stapling as needed
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Sit/ride in vehicles, busses, subways, trains, planes - public transportation for lengthy periods of time
  • Walk up/down stairs as needed
  • Walk to enter/exit subway and other public transportation as needed
  • Walk several blocks to get to required location

HOURS PER WEEK: Exempt

  • Regular hours entail Monday-Friday 9am-5pm
  • Must be available to work afternoons, evenings and weekends may be required

FUNCTIONS:

  • Provide ongoing individual and group coaching sessions to staff for processing of complex cases and best practices
  • Ensure patient centered and culturally sensitive practice
  • Participate in training of all Clinicians and their respective treatment teams to ensure they are versed in the clinical approaches for working with the UC and foster families
  • Facilitate interdisciplinary behavior management meetings
  • Facilitate interdisciplinary safety plan meetings
  • Collaborate with ADs to gather information on/complete SA/SIRs
  • Monitor and provide guidance on SIRs
  • Maintain SIR Log and other clinical data logs as requested
  • Provide on-call clinical support and guidance to clinicians/ AD
  • Liaison between teams and Learning Center
  • Provide crisis intervention as needed
  • Participate in weekly staffing meetings with clinicians, case managers, case coordinator, and other ORR staff
  • Attend required training
  • Read required books
  • Responsible for complying with rules and regulations governing access to Protected Health Information under HIPAA. Access to Protected Health Information is limited to the extent required to perform responsibilities effectively and efficiently. No access will be permitted unnecessarily. These essential job functions dictate the level of access, use, and disclosure of confidential information
  • Perform other duties as requested by your immediate supervisor or the Chief Executive Officer

Experience and Skills:

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • LMSW or equivalent license in related field required
  • Three years post Master’s experience required
  • Knowledge of treatment approaches like TST
  • NYC ACS or private agency child welfare experience required
  • Familiarity with OCFS, OMRDD, OMH, and other relevant municipal and state agencies
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook applications
  • Flexibility to work when the families are available to meet
  • Ability to work well with people from many cultures including recent immigrants, non-English speakers, and LGBTQ children.
  • Willingness to travel within the 5 boroughs of New York City
  • NYS Driver’s License preferred
  • Ability to travel to other agency locations as required
