Job Description:

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:Under the direction of the Director of UC TFC Clinical Services, the X-Ray technician will be responsible for responding to requests from the medical center for all x-ray procedures. Responsibilities include x-ray consumer intake, explaining x-ray procedures to consumers, maintaining equipment, and producing x-ray images as requested.


  • Determine consumers’ x-ray needs in accordance with instructions from physician(s.)
  • Explain procedures to consumer.
  • Position x-ray equipment and adjust control to set exposure factors.
  • Use patient-shielding techniques to minimize radiation exposure to patient and staff.
  • Collect and maintain records of consumers examined, examinations performed, patient histories, views taken, etc.
  • Develop and process radiological images
  • Obtain quality diagnostic radio graphs as requested by physicians.
  • Ensure that all equipment is in good working condition and in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Maintain examination rooms, stock necessary office and radiological supplies.
  • Attend required training.
  • Read required books.
  • Responsible for complying with rules and regulations governing access to Protected Health Information under HIPAA. Access protected Health Information is limited to the extent required to perform responsibilities herein, dictate the level of access, use, and disclosure of confidential information.
  • Perform other duties as requested by your immediate supervisor or the Chief Executive Officer.

Experience and Skills:

  • Associate’s degree in Radiologic Technology or Radiology with a minimum of one year’s work experience as a radiologic technician
  • Current AART certification (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
  • Licensed X-Ray technician NYS licensure
  • Highly skilled in MS Office and working knowledge of
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills and ability to work in a flexible team context.
  • Ability to handle confidential material in a responsible manner.
  • Valid NYS Driver’s License.
  • Ability to travel to all agency locations as required.
