Job Description:

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for overseeing the Agency’s day-to-day fiscal operations.

FUNCTIONS:

  • Develops and maintains a structure and system for meeting Cayuga Home for Children’s fiscal needs and requirements.
  • Responsible for month end close and monthly financial statements with strict deadlines.
  • Ensures that accurate fiscal information is gathered, recorded and analyzed to provide a basis for management and decision-making.
  • Manages a Finance staff of six (6) to ensure the necessary functions of billing, collecting receivables, approving and paying for expenditures, reporting and analyzing expenses are done in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Responsible for preparations of agency’s annual Standards of Payment Report, Consolidated Fiscal Report, and Consolidated Budget Reports, and other required reports.
  • Experience with SSOP preparation.
  • Experience with OPwDD requirements and CFR preparation and review.
  • Responsible for the preparation of other reports for funding agencies.
  • Responsible for the development of monthly costs analysis report of agency’s expenses.
  • Assists the Chief Financial Officer and department directors in preparation of the annual budget.
  • Works with the CFO and department directors to implement and control the budget.
  • Advises the CFO on trends, patterns, and the changing fiscal environment.
  • Finance reporting to Finance Committee and Board of Directors.
  • Ensures preparation of annual audit.
  • Serves as a member of Cayuga Centers’ leadership team and as such helps to guide CC by creating connections between programs and departments, and stewards a consumer-centered, staff building culture.
  • Attend required training
  • Read required books.
  • Responsible for complying with rules and regulations governing access to Protected Health Information under HIPAA. Access to Protected Health Information is limited to the extent required to perform responsibilities effectively and efficiently. No access will be permitted unnecessarily. These essential job functions dictate the level of access, use, and disclosure of confidential information.
  • Perform other duties as requested by your immediate supervisor.

Experience and Skills:

  • Bachelor degree in related field required with significant administrative and managerial experiences in the public or private sectors.
  • Non-profit fiscal experience a requirement.
  • 3-5 years solid accounting supervisory experience.
  • Experience with CFR preparation.
  • Experience with cost reporting such as CFR and SOP.
  • Self-starter, entrepreneurial leader.
  • Team builder.
  • Mileage, Tolls, & Parking are reimbursed through agency payroll.
  • Ability to handle confidential material in a responsible manner.
  • Valid NYS Driver’s License.
  • Vehicle required: Must be safe and dependable.
  • Ability to travel to all agency locations as required.

HOURS PER WEEK: Exempt. Regular hours entail 9:00am - 5:00pm, Monday - Friday. Must be flexible to meet program needs.
