Job Description:

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES: Recruits, trains and facilitates certification of foster parents; ensures a solid working relationship with parents by providing a valuable resource to families.

FUNCTIONS:

  • Works with branch managers and director to anticipate host parent recruitment needs
  • Selects method of advertising, prepares and places recruitment advertisements in conjunction with agency marketing specialist
  • Recruits, trains, and facilitates certification of host parents. Training includes: PST, TST, MAPP, Mini MAPP.
  • Conducts initial and follow-up training of host parents
  • Serves as a resource and trouble-shooter to host families; maintains motivation and treatment participation of host parents, ensures a good working relationship with host parents
  • Attends weekly staff meetings
  • Monitors and submits all board rate paperwork
  • Enters all pertinent payment information in CCRS
  • Documents and tracks all certification of homes in Connections
  • Attends required trainings
  • Reads required books
  • Perform other duties as requested by immediate supervisor or the Chief Executive Officer.
  • Responsible for complying with rules and regulations governing access to Protected Health Information under HIPAA. Access to Protected Health Information is limited to the extent required to perform responsibilities effectively and efficiently. No access will be permitted unnecessarily. The essential job functions as described, herein, dictate the level of access, use, and disclosure of confidential information.

 

Experience and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, counseling, education or other human services profession required.
  • NYC ACS or private agency child welfare experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with ACS, OCFS, OMRDD, OMH, and other relevant municipal and state agencies
  • Flexibility to work when families are available to meet
  • Willingness to travel within the 5 boroughs of New York City
  • Valid NYS Driver’s License
  • Vehicle required: Must be safe and dependable.

HOURS PER WEEK: Exempt

  • Regular hours entail 9:00am - 5:00pm, Monday through Friday. Must be able to flex schedule to meet program needs.
