Job Description:

Cayuga Centers is seeking compassionate direct care staff to join our Residential Treatment Center  in Auburn.  Cayuga Centers has created a unique atmosphere that resembles a home  environment to assist our youth in meeting their treatment goals. Direct care staff provide a safe space for youth through structure and predictability and are responsible for supervision and monitoring of day-to-day activity, supporting intensive therapy and treatment planning,  guide skill development, coach youth to use skills during difficult times, and model pro-social behaviors.  Our recreation and enrichment opportunities are unique to residential programming.  Join our growing team of staff members helping youth grow and heal!

What YOU’LL do:

As direct care staff, you will be providing direct supervision to youth in a cottage setting, serving as a  mentor. You will be responsible for  building a safe and secure environment; working with a team of staff and treatment team members to use behavior modification strategies to empower and encourage youth to grow.  You’ll also be earning a competitive benefits package and hourly pay ranging from $13.10 to $19.10 (depending on education, intensive program differential and completion of 6 months)

Experience and Skills:

  • The ability to forge respectful partnerships with troubled youth and families by helping them gain skills and confidence to address issues they face
  • A strong positive conviction about the capacity of people to grow and change
  • The ability to set limits and maintain the helping role of the practitioner and to intervene appropriately to meet the needs of the youth served
  • The competency to communicate effectively and professionally with youth and coworkers
  • Fact based reporting and effective writing
  • Flexibility to meet the needs of the youth and agency
  • High School Diploma/GED and valid NYS driver’s license
  • The ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
