Job Description:

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES: The Assistant Campus Support Manager works in partnership with residential management to ensure cross-campus coordination and operation.

FUNCTIONS:

  1. Care of Youth
    • Properly employs all agency protocols and procedures in order to maintain an environment consistent with agency principles that are physically and emotionally safe.
    • Utilize approved supervision and behavior management strategies as appropriate including approved methods of physical intervention.
    • Provide direct care to residents, serving as a positive adult role model. Support the cottages in operationalizing an empowering program culture that encourages growth.
    • Develop and ensure follow up of all specialized safety plan schedules and routines.
  2. Mentoring Of Staff
    • Will provide mentoring and guidance for newly hired staff and track their performance.
    • Provide bi-weekly supervision and keep timely and thorough documentation of staff development and discipline of Transition Team.
    • Regularly communicate/mentor with other Assistant Unit Managers, as well as take leadership role in the monthly Assistant Manager meeting.
  3. Department and Agency Responsibilities
    • Attend any meetings, trainings or appointments as assigned by the Campus Support Manager.
    • Conducts all required fire drills in the absence of the Cottage Manager.
    • Oversee the completion of all campus support paperwork making sure everything is up to date and accurate.
    • Co-facilitate staff meetings. Will facilitate these meetings in absence of the Campus Support Manager.
    • Act as additional liaison between the campus support team and cottage staff and ensure follow-through of all ICMP's, safety plans, and specialized supervision plans.

Experience and Skills:

  • Associates Degree in a Human Services related field and a minimum of one year of Residential Care experience with progressive responsibilities; or High School Diploma and a minimum of three years relevant experience.
  • Possess the knowledge, attitude, and skills needed to appreciate and encourage diversity, including:
    • The ability to forge a mutually respectful partnership with persons served and their families in which they are helped to gain the skills and confidence to address challenges they encounter;
    • A positive conviction about the capacity of people to grow and change;
    • The ability to work in partnership with other team members;
    • The ability to set limits and maintain a helping role with both team members and persons served. This includes utilizing appropriate interventions to meet the needs of the youth and family we serve
  • Experience in providing therapy/treatment services for at-risk youth and families.
  • Possess a valid NYS Driver’s License.
  • Vehicle required: Must be safe and dependable.
  • Ability to travel to all agency locations as required.
